MINUTES OF RICH1 HPD & MECHANICS MEETING

Thursday 14th June 2007
Present Bill Cameron, Dave Clark & Dave Websdale @ IC, Richard Plackett @ CERN, Trevor Savidge @ home.

Upper HPD Chariot

Discussion @ Ic about photon funnel catchment drawings.

Workshop has drawings for long plinth parts.
RP to prepare patch panel designs for TS to finalise.

HPD Column Dressing

RP reports
Of the final 7 columns for the lower RICH1 plane:
2 are completed,
1 is under test,
1 is haveing HV prepared by Didier,
1 is undergoing HPD mounting,
2 are awaiting HPDs from Scotland ~1 week.

During wait will concentrate on cooling plates.

Return to Upper HPD Chariot

TS sequence of drawings:
2 drawings for long spars, holes on inside and top.
The main chairot frame can then be assembled.
Roller blocks, possible to make on C&C.
Photon Funnel catchment parts, also C&C.
Hood frame.
These parts are essentially designed and its now a question of producing the drawings

DW sets priorites as:
provide material requirements.
Then proceed as TS describes above.

Parts that will require C&C still to be designe dafter this are:
hood end pieces (that patch panels fit into)
patch panels
fibre cassettes

Work still needed on cooling manifold design, but dependent on RICH2 progress with fast connectors or lack thereof
BC to check chariot wheels with Rohan and order them.

DW suggests we do a trial installation of chariot into RICH1 and of columns into chariot in July before it is annodised.
Chariot would then be completed and sealed at IC before returning to CERN for columns to be mounted.
DW will organise trolley to transpot chariot about.
