Fourth Bulletin
2. General Information
The fourth international Neutrino Factory workshop, NuFact02, will take place in the Blackett Laboratory, Imperial College London from the 1st July to 6th July 2002. The workshop will cover all aspects of both neutrino and non-neutrino physics at the Neutrino Factory as well as the accelerator complex that is required to deliver the various particle beams. In addition, the relative merits of Neutrino Factory and 'super muon-neutrino' beams will be discussed. The workshop will be composed of a mixture of plenary and parallel, working-group, sessions. This bulletin contains the preliminary schedule of the workshop, identifies the working-group conveners and gives details of the registration procedure and the workshop fee.
The first Neutrino Factory Summer Institute will take place at Coseners House, Abingdon (near Oxford) from the 24th June 2002 to 29th June 2002. For more information refer to http://www.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk/NuFact02/SummerInstitute.
3. Registration
Registration should be performed through the NuFact02 web site ( http://www.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk/NuFact02/
). The conference fee is 230 pounds (180 pounds for students).
Accommodation can be booked separately via the NuFact02 web page as
described in the first bulletin.
The Registration fee does not pay for lunches. There are several
sandwich
shops, pubs and restaurants around the College, and a shop and a
canteen
on Campus.
Sandwiches can also be ordered in advance from Level 8 Common Room.
The NAT WEST Bank is also on Campus.
4. NuFact Summer Institute
The week before the NuFact02 Workshop, the first NuFact Summer Institute will take place at Coseners House, Abingdon (near Oxford) from the 24th June 2002 to 29th June 2002. For more information refer to http://www.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk/NuFact02/SummerInstitute. This will be a unique occasion to be introduced to the neutrino physics and the accelerator physics that are relevant to the design, construction and exploitation of extremely high intensity accelerator-based sources neutrinos. The aim of the Summer Institute is to form a community of motivated young physicists that will be able to realise the Neutrino Factory/ Less young, but equally motivated, physicists are also welcome.
5. Social Programme
There will be a reception to welcome delegates to Imperial
College
to London on Monday 1st July. The reception will take
place
in the Silver Galleries of the Victoria
and Albert Museum @ 19.00, main Entrance in Cromwell Road. The
workshop dinner will take place on Thursday 4th July in the Flight
Galleries of the Science
Museum of London @ 19.00, main Entrance in Exhibition
Road.
Lord
Sainsbury of Turville, Parliamentary Under-Sectretary of State
for
Science and Innovation, will be attending the dinner.
The cost of these two events is included in the workshop fee.
Additional
tickets for both functions may be purchased through the NuFact02 web
page
(http://www.hep.ph.ic.ac.uk/NuFact02/).
