Double parton scattering in the WW channel

Abstract: Events in which two separate hard scatterings occur within the same hadron-hadron collision have been studied since the beginning of high energy hadron colliders. Theoretical models for the dynamics of such processes differ greatly in their underlying assumptions and resulting observables. Experimentally, double parton interactions are observed in a variety of production modes. Some recent results from the CMS collaboration are detailed in one of the most promising channel of same-charge WW production. As observation levels are approached for this process, an outlook to the future including studies for the HL-LHC, are presented.
