Search for Non-Standard Neutrino Interactions in Borexino Phase-II

Abstract: The liquid scintillator detector Borexino located at the Laboratory Nazionali del Gran Sasso measures solar neutrinos via neutrino-electron elastic scattering. The recoiled electron spectra induced by the neutrinos scattered off electrons depend on the neutrino survival probability and neutrino-electron interaction cross sections. Some theories beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics predict so-called non-standard neutrino interactions (NSIs), which linearly modify the chiral couplings and the matter potential occurring in the neutrino survival probability function. In this talk, the search for flavor-diagonal non-standard neutrino interactions using Borexino Phase-II data is presented.
