Future Opportunities with Lepton-Hadron Colliders
Abstract: A review is given of past and future deep inelastic lepton-hadron scattering experiments and the corresponding physics programme. Particular emphasis is placed on the upcoming Electron-Ion Collider, which is expected to begin science operations in the early 2030s at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in the USA, and the Large Hadron electron Collider, which is a proposed final upgrade to the CERN LHC for the 2040s.
