What's it all about ?

Physics and Signals
ER: electron(ic) recoil
NR: nuclear recoil
S1:(Scintillation) Photon produced by initial interaction of neutrino/WIMP/something else ? with Xe atom (mainly with Xe electrons)
S2:If (? -- or does this always happen) electrons (an eletcron) is set free during the interaction of the signal/background particle with a LXe atom, this/these electron(s) are directed by an electrical field (strength ?) to the top of the detector, where a (Scintiallation) Photon produced is produced by e- in the gaseous phase.
Each interaction is expected to produce an S1 signal, followed by a delayed and larger S2 signal. VUV: vacuum ultra violet (10-200 nm)
optical photon: photon produced by scintillation
neutrino floor:
WIMP: Weakly interacting massive particle. One of the holy grails of dark matter searches.
Boron-8 (B8):
Krypton (Kr)

Detector
A two-phase liquid Xenon (LXe) time projecting chamber (TPC).
two-phase: liquid Xenon with a thin layer (~ ?? mm) of gaseous Xenon at the top https://www.symmetrymagazine.org/article/dark-matter-hunt-with-lux-zeplin LRF: Light reponse function (of a PMT)
HG Pulse

Simulation and Data
RQ: Reduced Quantity. Examples are: TPCHGPulses (TPC HG Pulses)
NEST: (Noble Element Simulation Technique)
BACCARAT: GEANT
