The virtual slide show: Jon's und my fabulous vacation in Utah :-)
Hotel 'Luxor' wohnen.
Hier gibt es eine Karte. Sie ist allerdings fast 1 MB groß,
daher nur bei starken Interesse zu empfehlen.
Summary:
After flying from Chicago to Las Vegas, we rented a car and drove
through the desert to Flagstaff. We stayed a night in Flagstaff and
then drove along a very straight road (to quote Jon: "The Romans
would have been proud of this road.") eastwards, towards Gallup in
New Mexico. In Gallup we turned northwards and drove via Shiprock
to Mesa Verde National Park. After
spending two nights in Mesa Verde, where much to my consternation it
actually snowed (this is my summer vacation!), we drove to Moab, a
small town in Utah which we used as a base to explore Arches and
Canyonlands National Parks. After spending four days in these
National Parks we drove along small roads through a rather bleak
rural Utah to Bryce Canyon and from there
to Zion National Park. At the end of our
trip we returned to Las Vegas, where we stayed in the incredible
Luxor Hotel.
Here's a map of the area we covered. It's about
1 MB in size, so I would not recommend clicking on it, unless you
are really interested.
Hier geht's los.
