I hope you are having fun in London (nice of you Julia to let Pia
sleep in your bed; nice start, but now you have to move a step
further: how about ME?!).
Anyway, here it is a little bit shit, because everybody has a reeding
week (=sleeping and drinking week) but me. Instead I have this
tutorial and a presentation I have to make. You should see me try to
look serious in a suit (anyway, I'm just looking for an excuse to
wear my brand new Italian suit I brought from Greece.
Now to the good (for me) news. I am coming to London this weekend to
pick up some stuff... Be prepared, because I am beginning to feel
sadist. Me and my torture equipment would gern Dich treffen!!!

Forget about Romeo. Greco is better for any potential Juliet!!!
Scrieb mir bald!

Hi Julia,
(I'll try tobe nice for a while). Too bad that you aren't able to row
this weekend, and that you won't go to Wales either (I would like to
go as well). But your missfortunes are my fortune, as I will be able
to meet you in London. My program is not so predetermined. On
Saturday morning I have to look for a computer and then I will be
free (and probably alone because the guy to whose place I'm going to
sleep doesn't want to do any sightseeing. If there is something that
you would like to see (and show me), other than your 'stamp
collection', I'd love to go with you (But pls. note that it is my
first time in London so I'd like to see some famous attractions - Pia
has already chosen some options for me). On Saturday night I want to
go out, but I don't know where. There are probably some other
'Brumies' who will join me, and of course you, my travel guide.:-)
On Sunday there will be some more sightseeing for me, probably alone
again, and probably I'll meet a friend from Berlin (he is greek) if I
he calls me.

Anyway, I hope we meet because I'll be carrying all this heavy
equipment just for you! I'll call you Saturday morning or even
tonight.
Dein Pavlos

Hi Julia, from B'ham, which never looked so ugly before
After visiting London and comparing it (if there is anything to
compre), the only thing that holds me here is that I have already
prepaid my room and my tuition fee.
Hei! I just received you email. I'll read it and come back...(after 1
minute- sorry but your email wasn't that long).
But really, it is I who should say thanks, because you left your
books (that was the easy part) to come and listen to my lectures in
the british museum. They say that a lecturer is only as good as his
audience; and I was wonderfull on Saturday... And something else in
order not to forget it: you have to give me many pints in order to
see me dance this music. The greek travolta spirit is a little bit
rusty in me...
On Sunday we were supposed to wake up early, but instead we woke up
at 1130, just in time to watch the queen on tv. Then we went to the
Tower of London where we were very lucky. One of the beefeaters was
doing a tour, explaining the story of the place, but in his own very
english and very funny way. For example when he was talking about the
Scottish King, he said: 'we had many fights with the Scottish you
know... and Mel Gibson!
We left at 2100, in a train full of people (we had to stand up for
the whole journey).
Anyway, I guess I'll be coming back to London soon, and you can take
that as a threat!
Schreib mir bald!
Dein Pavlos

this thing is certainly irritating...
Anyway, I believe you are coming on Thursday. That is good, but it
would be even better if you could come on Wednesday because we are
going for Balti with my flatmates. Pia will come as well (she is
practically a flatmate, as she has won the hearts of all of us), I
think.
I would love to go to the Lake District with you, but I have to think
about my f----ng assignments first (If it will make you feel any
scared I can make YOU one of my assignments -xexe- satanic laughter).
Have a better week than me!

I don't know if it is right German for rowing, but pls. tell me,
cause I'll need it with you.
My weekend was awfull, and I had problems with the computer (that is
why I didn't come to the Guild on Friday). Today I had a presentation
which didn't go as well as expected. That is probably cause I didn't
do it; another guy from my team did it and I just sat beside him in
my black suit, trying to look good (and not like an undertaker like
some stupid and fashion illiterate english clasmates told me.
Now I am going to sleep for X hours, and wake up tomorrow (or the day
after). Have fun with your guests and don't go to the emails. In fact
if I receive an answer soon I will know that you are not taking them
for sightseeing: bad girl!
See ya (sooner than you think),
Pavlos

Hello Julia,

I hope you visit the emails occasionally, if you find time while
entertaining your guests.
I was in London for one day (came Saturday morning. left Sunday
morning), and I slept at a friend from Berlin (since you were not
available :-( ). I wanted to ring you but my schedule was very tight
and I hardly had time to see my friend from Berlin (he is actually my
classmeta from highschool, but he lived there for six years or so).
You see the reason for me coming there was the elections of the
Helenic Student association of England. a guy from my old University
called a few days ago and asked me to go and help, and I said OK if
you pay my ticket. And they did.... It was tiring but fun. I met all
these rich people from my country (I hated most of them, supeficial
egopaths!), and many people that I knew from my old university...
there was even the daughter of our prime minister!!
My night out was good, but i was actually draged there as i was too
tired.
Next time I am goign in London on 13 or 14 of December. I hope you
will have time to see me then (don't worry: no more sight seeing).

Tchuess
Pavlos

Lecture in two minutes. Have to be quick. STOP

Hi my hero!! You really can row!! And these sissy UCL girlies do nto
stand a chance against you. SINK'EM!!!
But what exactly do you mean by 'I can identify rowing blokes just by
looking at their pants' ???? Which part in particular? (Spare me the
details, pls.). Anyway, I thought that muscle men do not usually have
lots to demonstrate :-)
Keep looking though....there might be an exeption.
Too bad that you will not be in London at the 13th. Now I have to
reduce my stay to 2 days instead of three. You see I had reserved one
whole day to take you (never mind if you want to come with me or not)
to the London Dungeons to have REAL fun.
I'll email you again before Xmas.
Oops. My lecturer will not be happy. (isn't it stupid that we still
have lectures until the 11th of December?) It sucks!!
See ya,
Pavlos

Wow!! I definatelly have to see you row. But are you sure it is fair
that you row in a 'novice' team? It seems to me that you're not so
novice (Are you sure you're not an east German anabolics-wonder
athlete?).
Here everything is moving fast (assignments, studying, even going
out) as I have to finish before Saturday. My days are quite full, and
I look forward to going home to devote sometime to myself...
Have a nice trip and see you when I come back.
Frohe Weinachten und ein gruekliches neues Jahr!

Pavlos

Happy New Year,
and all the rest of the wishes one makes, hoping that this year will
be different...
How was your holiday? Mine was not quite a holiday because of these
friggin' exams. I came back early in the morning of the 2nd, andI've
been in my room ever since. My exams went quite good, except from the
last one, which was perverted sex (and guess wgho was the victim!!!).
Never mind, it's over now. I hope your exams will be OK.
You write me as soon as you have time, and you tell Pia to call me.

See ya,
Pavlos

Helo Julia,
nice to hear from somebody who hasn't any exam stories to tell.
Myself I have plenty (some of them nasty), but I'll spare you the
horrific details...
At the moment I have a lecture, but it is in comp lab so I can
pretend I'm working...
I hope the photos you have really represent me and my personality (as
much as it can be represented in 2dimension paper). Or are they just
embarassing? Eitherway, pls. send them to me, or I'll come and
pick'em up myself when I come to London. My address is:
Pavlos Panagiotidis
Oakley Court, Flat 7
Pritchatts Road,
Birmingham
B15 2QW

Yesterday I called Pia at her new house in Chesham. She is probably
coming to Bham this weekend. I have to go now, but I'll contact you
again A.S.A.P.
Bin dann,
Pavlos

Hello, Julia
Thanks very much for the fotos, which prove for once more that the
camera lenses are just incapable of capturaing the full extend of my
beauty (either that, or I just look like an idiot in real life as
well).
As you must know, Pia was here during the weekend and we had much fun
together with all the German clan... I was so tired when she left,
that we couldn't even do the party we were planning with Tom (to
celebrete getting rid of her). So the red nightmare is out of B'ham
and life is getting back to normal (although rather boring). Now she
is back to London, so she is now your problem, not ours. Keep her
there, and we'll come see you (help you) as soon as we can. Tom is
coming this weekend probably, but I think of coming a bit later
(around her b-day).
How about you? Are you coming back to B'ham (how tempting, I know!)?
By the way, I'd really like to see you row (as you never stop talking
about it). Are there any games around Pia's b-day? I'll bring my own
whip ;-)
Thanx again for the pics, and schreib mir bald!
Tchuess,
Pavlos

Hi Julia,
it is nice to hear of you again, especially after I heard about your
misfortune with your back. I hope that it stops aching fast enough to
be able to go back to rowing. Beliave me, I know how it feels to see
the other compete while you can't; I had a broken leg 6 years ago and
I just watched other playing basketball... it stinks.
My weekend was very interesting, as I went to Warwick University, to
visit a friend and to see the 'One World' party they had at the union
- very nice party, plenty of food from different countries. But apart
from a good student's union and really luxurious (not to mention
cheap) accomodation, the rest is so boring there. There is nothing
around and nowhere to go. The only thing they do is go to flat
kitchens and drink...
On Sunday morning I took the train to London to go vote to some
elections for Hellenic student unions (as you've probably guessed
they paid for my ticket). It was my intention to call you, but this
stupid election took six hours and we were inside a big restaurant,
listening to stupid politician talks and inhaling smoke. When we
finaly finished we had time enough only for a walk to covent garden
and then rush back to catch the train. If I new that I was going to
London to become a passive smoker I would have thought twice....
Never mind, I think I'll come back for Pia's b-day (i don't know
details yet), and I hope we will meet each other then...
In the meanwhile, try to relax and listen to what the doctor says (My
God! I sound like my mother!).
Take care, and see you soon,
Pavlos

We may need your services for our trip in Dublin with the Hellenic
Society: the ferry is stlg32 per person and we are already considering
alternarive methods of crossing the sea...
Anyway, I'll probably come to London this weekend for the Red Devil's
birthday- that is if we manage to find her before then... So we will
meet to discuss about my offer (stlg25 for every greek you take accross
to Ireland).
In the meanwhile, I would like you to find, if possible the email
address of a friend of mine who studies in King's College. your
stupid email system doesnot allow enquiries from other servers. Her
name is Vassiliki Karayanni and she is a postgrad in the Mechanical
Engineering Department. Could you please take a look in your server
and tell me if you find anything, before Friday?
Thanks very much, and see you in the capital of the Empire,
Pavlos

Anyway, thanks for the card from N.Y. which was send from ENGLAND

received something.
Ooops! Since it is your b-day I am going to send you an email

This is a general statement. It is valid for my assignments, for my
semester, for my plans to travel around Britain and for your stay here. This
is the worst thing of all, because I will not have the chance to try your
hard and inhospitable floor... Schade.
I still hope that I can come to London before you and Pia leave but it is
not as esay as I thought considering the amount of work (what an ugly word)
that I have to do. By the way do you know that in Greece we have the same
word for work and slavery? I think we know better.
And there is also something even more clever: If work was a nice thing would
they pay us to do it?
But that's enough of me being lazy. I am also sick at the moment (nasty
cough, fever and a really bad mood - imagine: it is Saturday night and I am
at home eating chocolate digestives).
Do you also see Pia often? Tell her that she can run but she can't hide:
I'll get her even if it involves doing my summer project in Germany (as I
told you there is a great probability that I will do it in Hannover - sounds
like Hungover).

See ya (I hope)
Pavlos

Gia sou Julia (Hello ....),

I hope the blokes in the river were much more men than Leo, otherwise your
day would have been a waste. As for the waiting at Leicester square for
little Leo, it is the most immature thing I have heard for a long time.
(Bullshit!!! You should see what I would do if PAMELA ANDERSON was
coming!!!).

The weekend was very nice, (lots of assignments) but also sad, as I had to
say goodbye to Pia. I'll probably won't see you either before you leave for
Germany, but I promise (or threaten!) that I'll come and visit you (attack
you) when I'll leave Bham. Of course if I'm going to do my summer project in
Hanover, we are going to see each other very often...

Good luck with your exams there.

Kuessen,
Pavlos

P.S. If you read this, write to me back before Wednesday, because then I'm
leaving to Scotland for a week.
