Hello!!!
I don't actually have much time to write a very long message
either, but I am getting a bit bored of proteins, so I
thought I'd take a break and tell you all about the meeting
last night. It was really long (we didn't finish until 9.30
or so). The new members of the committee are:
Seniors Paul and Matt are joint presidents, Julia is
treasurer, Vicky is secretary, Tim is social secretary,
Rachel, the senior(!!!!) is the new women's captain (we
still can't understand how she won instead of Veronique
because some of the people in the club don't even know her),
and Chris is the new men's captain.
So there are all the exciting news from the BC for you. I
haven't done anything very exciting myself as I have quite a
lot of work to finish and notes to sort out before I go
home.
I hope you are enjoying Cologne once again, even if you have
loads of things to do.
I have to go now, please write back soon and i will answer
before i go home on Saturday. If not, I will answer from
the computer in my father's office. Love you and miss you
lots and lots and lots, Big Kiss,

Carolina

Shit, shit, shit: I hate Ricardo!!!! You won't believe what he
wants me to do now. He called me yesterday to see if I was
going to be able to go to the river on Saturday, and when I said
no he asked me when I was coming back. "Oh, good", he said,
"then you will be back for the 25th. There is a regatta on the
25th which he wants me to cox. I can't believe it!! I had a
huge panic attack after talking to him and I was very close to
diallung your number to tell you until I remembered that you are
not here (I really missed you !!!!). I had to go and tell
Violeta, but I don't think it's the same because she doesn't
really understand what I'm talking about. I told Ricardo I
wasn't sure whether I was experienced enough to do it, but as
usual he said "You'll be fine. There always has to be a first
time!!" I suppose he's right, but I'm bit scared. I don't
really want the responsibility (at least, not yet) of losing a
race. The worst thing is that is it not a normal timed race. I
don't know what you call them, but Ricardo said that there would
be more than one boat racing at the same time, which is terrible
because it means that I will have to "fight" with other boats
for a good position in the river!! How terrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
F***ing Ricardo, I think he's mad! (I don't mean it really).
Apart from that exciting piece of news, I don't have a lot more
to tell you. I have lots of things to do (copying notes,
shopping, etc) before I go home tomorrow afternoon, so I am
getting a bit stressed.
Anyway, must go because I have to go and hand in my choice of
courses for next year before the office closes. I am sure you
are enyoing being back at your parents' house (you can have REAL
food for a few days!!), as I will be tomorrow night. Can't
wait. Write back soon ans I promise to write back as soon as
possible. My parents told me that They have connected to
inernet (I think it's only for a few weeks). If it's still
working when I get home I will write from there and you can
answer back straight away!. Kisses from everyone here, and a
VERY BIG ONE from me,

Caro

Hello!
I'm back!!!!! I arrived in London yesterday afternoon. It's nice to
be back and see everyone, but to be honest I didn't really feel like
coming back, mainly because of exams. I am so stressed since I
hardly did any work at home and there are less than two weeks left
before my first exam (oh God, oh God!!). I am not too sure that I am
going to cox for the BC for the regatta this weekend anymore, because
I haven't heard from Ricardo yet and there is no way I am going to
cox a race without having trained for a while first. I must admit
that since you left I din't enjoy the BC so much. I feel like I
don't know anyone and it feels like most of the girls don't like me
very much. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the impression I get since
you went back to Germany.
Anyway, enough of that. Being at home was nice although the weather
was not as nice as I would have liked. Iy was very windy and not
very warm, so I couldn't improve my tan, and now I look just as white
as I did before (very depressing!).
Write back soon with any news. Miss U lots. Take care,
Carolina
********
PS. I'm sorry I didn't write to you from home. Stupid me, I left
your address in a notebook in my room.

Dear Julia:

Thank you for your message. It makes me feel a lot better to
hear from people. I have had a pretty shitty two days. I think
until yesterday I hadn't really realised how close exams were
and I started to panic terribly. I am feeling slightly better
this morning, but I now have a bad stomach because I made myself
ill worrying so much. I still haven't been to the BC because
Ricardo hasn't called. I should call him, but I have been so
busy with revision that I haven't thought much about going
rowing. I think I will call him soon though: maybe getting out
of Lightfoot and spending a few hours in the fresh air might do
me some good.
I'm glad you are felling better and don't worry about your ear,
I am sure it will be OK soon, you just have to be patient. Ears
are very sensitive things and even a small problem seems really
annoying, but I can promise you won't hear that "beep" forever!!
Violeta arrived here last weekend. She is fine although she
also had areally bad flu' when she was in Bornemouth. She has
been revising most of the time. I will tell her to write to you
soon.
Oh!! I got some of the pictures from the Boat Race, etc. and I
have sent you some small copies of them (I didn't get any big
ones because the negatives are not mine). But I think we are
going to make some more copies, so I will send you big ones
soon.
My exams start next Wednesday and finish on Monday the 18th. I
will be in London for a few weeks after that (I have a ticket to
go back on the 5th of June), so please try to come and see us
for a week or so. That would be really nice!
I hope things work out well with the rowing, but be careful with
the weather or you might not get rid of your infection for a
long time.
Take good care or yourself and don't work too hard. Write back
soon. Love you lots,
Carolina

Hello!!
I'm glad you're almost back to normal in with the rowing, the
university, etc. I have just returned from a physiology exam, which
was very boring, but I think I didn't do too badly. I only have four
to go now.
It's so great that you are coming to London!! I just hope it is
before the 5th, because that's when I'm going home for the summer.
Don't worry about the photos. The fact is I thought I had posted
them but I hadn't, so I only put them in the mail one or two days ago
(I'm really sorry!!!!). Hopefully they will get there soon.
Anyway, must go now. Back to the revision; the next exam is on
Thursday: Immunology AND German. Write back soon and take care,
Besos,
Caro

Hello!!!

I'm so happy you're coming. I am on my way to the park as I finally
finished my exams yesterday morning. It is a great feeling not
havnig anything to do!! Now I have to wait for my results though, I
hope I didn't fail anything. I will probably go to the river
tomorrow. Ricardo phoned and said could I please come. It will
probably be really good, because the weather is soooo wonderful!! It
doesn't even feel like England anymore. I am having to borrow summer
clothes from people here because I didn't think of bringing any from
home. Now I have 2 weeks to enjoy the sun and get a tan - what a
hard life!!
Anyway, I will see you very soon (where are you staying, by the
way?). Meanwhile, be good. Hugs and kisses,

Hello!
Good to know you got the pictures. DOn't worry about telling me
which ones you want. The film they were in also had some pictures of
the ball, so we made copies of the whole film for everyone who went
to the ball (it was cheaper to make copies of the whole film that of
individual pictures), and none of them wanted any of the rowing
pictures. So I now have four copies of everything - you can take as
many as you want!!
I haven't been rowing at all since I came back after Easter (too much
work!!), but I will try to phone Ricardo so that I can go a few times
before I go back to Spain (then you can come with me).
I hope the doctor has good news for you, and have a good time on your
many journeys. I'm going back to my revision now (German exam
tomorrow!). See you soon,
Kisses,
Caro

Dear Julia,

You better hurry up and get here soon. After days of excellent
weather, today, when most people have already finished their exams,
it has been raining all night and now it is still really cloudy!!
They say that it will get better tomorrow, but I don't know if I
should believe it. I hope they are right for once!!
You are more than welcome to come and stay in my room (we'll just
have to squeeze on the bed!). Violeta will be here as far as I know.
I don't think she is planning to go to Bornemouth before the 5th of
June. I tell her to write to you - she hasn't out of pure laziness
because she finished exams the same say that I did. See you
soon, kisses
Caro
****
PS. What time are you arriving? If it is a fairly decent time (NOT
very early in the morning), I can come to Waterloo to meet you. You
can tell me when you write back.

Hi!!
In reply to your mail: it may be better if you brought your sleeping
bag, but I don't mind sharing a bed with you (if that's OK with
you!). I already told the people at the boat club that you are
coming to visit, so they are all expecting to see you some time
(probably Saturday - I won't be going next Wednesday because I have
my driving test - how scary!!!).
The weather has turned awful again. It was raining for most of the
night and this afternoon it was POURING!! I really hope it gets
better for tomorrow - I will refuse to go out in the river in this
weather. I went last Saturday and it was really good fun! There
were lots of big boats (leisure boats), which a very big wash which ,
of course, all ended up in my seat and clothes, including the
underwear! I had never got so wet in my life, but it was really
funny.
Anyway I will see if anyone will come with me to Waterloo to pick you
up. See you on Thursday, love,
Caro

Hello dearest!

First I must apologise for not having written during the
summer. I am really sorry, especially since I have no real
excuse. Like you say I was being a lazy cow. The summer
was nice (and hot!!), and now I am back here in the
horrible, depressing weather!! I have only been in college
for a week and I already have loads of work to do, so i
don't know how I am going to manage to get through this
year. Today I have my first German lesson and I am really
worried because I can't remember anything of what I did
last year (shit, shit!!).
I have to go now. I hope you too had a really great summer
and that you are working hard now. Write back soon and I
promise I will reply. Hugs and kisses,
Carolina

Hallo!!
I have just come out of German lesson with a huge headache.
I really should have studied Italian or something!!
Anyway, everything is fine over here. I haven't been back
to the boat club yet because apparently it is now being run
by Hospital people and I don't really want to row with
people I don't know. But if I find someone from last year,
I might go back with them. The other problem is taht I
have less time now. I have tooo much work to do.
Talking of which... I must get home now to eat and do some
stuff for tomorrow. Hope everything is going well with
your dissertation, love
Carolina

Hello!!

Just a quick message to say hello. I have nothing very
interesting to tell you. I have just finished my very
difficult German class and I now have to go home to eat
something and then finish some work for tomorrow.
It has been so cold recently i think I might go back home
(only joking!!). But I do think I've caught a cold which
isn't very funny. I just hope it doesn't get any worse.
Write back soon. Love,
Caro

Hello!!!
Just a quick note to reply to your mail. Yes I will be in
London that weekend and I would love to see you too. I am
going to Paris next Wednesday to see my sister, but I am
coming back on the following Monday (it is our reading week
next week).
I haven't been back to the Boat Club this year yet, and I
kind of miss it, but I haven't seen any of the people who
row this year and I don't want to go if i don't know
anyone. Actually it might be a better idea if I don't go
because right now I spend most of my Saturdays at home
working, and recently it has been so cold I don't knwo if I
could have handled sitting in that boat for hours without
moving.
Anyway, must get back to my work now. Here are my address
and phone number. Feel free to phone whenever you want:

Hi!
Hope you are back at home safely. It was really nice to
have you here, even if it was only for a few days.
I guess it's back to work for you now. But don't stress
about it, I'm sure you will be OK.
Must go home and do LOADS of German homework for tomorrow!

Hello darling!
I'm sorry I've forgotten about you lately, but I'm sure
you understand. I've had soo much work for the past couple
of weeks, it's not funny anymore! Luckily it's over at the
end of this week (or at least i'ts over for a few weeks),
because i have no exams in January.
Hope you are doing better with you dissertation. With a
bit of luck I'll be connected to the internet at home over
Christmas, so I'll try to e-mail you from there. Do you
have an address at home? If you do, please send it to me
so that I can write.
That's all for now. I'm off to revise for a test on
Thursday. And just in case I don't get to write before you
go to your parents' for Christmas (you are going right?),
have a GREAT CHRISTMAS AND A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!,
love and kisses,
Caro
