WP1.2: Beam Line Detector

• For Phase-I, the magnetic field will drop from 3 Tesla to about 1 Tesla after the 90-degree curved solenoid

• much of the useful accelerator physics information will be lost
• measure beam at the curved solenoid itself — no one has measured such a beam before
• beam line measurements will help us design and optimise Phase-II and PRISM and future muon accelerators
• future late-arriving-particle-tagger

• To make a Phase-I physics claim, need to demonstrate confidence in our understanding of this unique beam (c.f. SINDRUM-II)

• In-situ survey of beam fluxes will be extremely valuable
