WP2.2: Components

• All hardware is commercially available

• Off-the-shelf components
• Need to develop software for COMET application
• DAQ system will be based on (existing, free) MIDAS code
• Need to write a lot of detector-specific and offline interface code (UCL and Imperial)

• Actual structure is flexible

• Diagrams show baseline configuration given understanding of number of channels and rates for 1kHz triggers
• Could easily add/remove switches, layers, etc, as required
• Most equipment is in counting house so can rearrange quickly
• Standalone design; does not require external WAN
